I now left Saint Tropez for Florence and what could I possibly do first in Gucci’s hometown but to.. visit the Gucci museum! Located right in the center of Florence, on the famous piazza della Signoria, the museum is a must-visit for all the fashionistas who want to learn everything about the famous brand. Like that the name of the founder is actually… Guccio Gucci! (no, it is not a joke..), hence the reason behind the famous double GG logo, that Guccio first worked as a lift boy at the Savoy Hotel and that’s where he developed his taste for luxurious, elegant travel bags hey hey.. You also get to see crazy stuffs such as a Gucci Cadillac, the horse riding outfit created for Charlotte Casiraghi in 2011 (and yes I confirm her trousers are.. skinny!) or see real close several haute couture gowns worn by celebrities at the Cannes Festival or LA Oscar (gowns just as tiny as Charlotte’s riding pants). There is also a small art exhibition space (with art works on loan from the Francois Pinault collection of course..), a bookstore (with a great selection of fashion books obviously), a cafe (where you can take to read books from the shop!) and an Iconstore, a shop selling limited editions of the iconic models of the house such as the Bamboo Bag, the Jackie, or the scarf which Gucci made for Grace Kelly.. Overall, a really nice visit!

Italy is full of artistry–Gucci is a wonderful addition to the Italian masters of art!!
