Salone del Mobile: The EDIT exhibition, by DesignJunction!
Yesterday, I went to visit what is announced as one of the major design events this year for the Salone del Mobile: the EDIT exhibition by Design Junction.
EDIT is an exhibition of 25 international design brands at La Pelota, a very cool exhibition spaze in the Brera district of Milan. The event is very laid back, with a big table tennis to play with in the middle of the venue and the designs proposed over there are very “hip”. My favourite? The gorgeous OverNight lamps from Odd Matter and some very strange sheep chairs!
Visa is a partner for the event and, just so you know, in case you have a Visa Premium card, there is a lounge with free cocktails just for you (you will also have priority access and a guided tour to the exhibition as well as special tickets for Salone del Mobile events).
Salone del Mobile: The Van Cleef & Arpels Exhibition Opening Cocktail Party!
So.. that’s it. The Salone del Mobile 2013 Edition started yesterday in Milan and il tutti quanti of the design world is here. The week is jammed packed with design exhibitions and happenings and creative exchanges are flowing in the air of every street.
Last night, to celebrate the start of this exceptional week, I went to the Van Cleef & Arpels boutique to meet a team of students of Design for applied arts from the Creative Academy, the prestigious school of the Richemont Group which forms the elite designers who will work on the jewellery, watches and fashion accessories of the companies of the group (Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier or IWC among others..).
Inspired by the universe of Van Cleef & Arpels, the students of the Creative Academy, in collaboration with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, created an exhibition entitled ”Les Fleurs Enchantées – Blooming Créativité“. A unique opportunity to meet these talented students and get to see the iconic collections of the house: Alhambra, the Perlée.. and my absolute favourite: the Between The Fingers rings (yes, Van Cleef does “between the fingers rings” too.. and they are absolutely faaabulous!). The exhibition runs from 10.30 till 19.00 from 9th to 14th April 2013

A Dream Italian Wedding!
Last weekend I was invited to a gorgeous party in Bergamo, in the countryside of Milan, to celebrate the wedding of two very good friends of mine.
The newly wed couple is Italiano-American. The wedding took place in an old Italian castle mixing references to both American and Italian weddings (with for example a traditional Bergamese buffet with polenta and cured meat.. but also a big American BBQ on the lawn!).

Visiting Christian Lacroix Hotel in Paris!
While in Paris for the Fashion Week the other month, I had a very cool proposition: go visit one of Christian Lacroix hotel!! “Visiting” the hotel means that I was able to sneak inside all the rooms of the hotel (well.. ok those one that were free that morning) together with the director of the hotel. How fun!
What I discovered was a truly unique place. The whole decor is crazy, beautiful, baroque.. completely Christian Lacroix! It is called the “Bellechasse” and is located on the Left Bank of Paris in the middle of what is called the “Latin Quarter“, one of Paris’s most beautiful place (and yes, dear readers, this is central). The “Chilly” Spring Shawl from Hermes!
Yesterday, to celebrate the arrival of Spring, I decided to mark the occasion in style.. and wore this giant shawl from Hermes!
Its name is “Piments” (“Chilly” in English). It is all in the green, brown and red hues. And it is giant indeed.. perfect to go out celebrate this first “chilly” day of Spring! ;)

The other day I went to shoot my friend M.-A.
